I need a husband that won’t drive me crazy – 10/26

O.k. I seriously think I need to change the day I write this blog. Russell keeps doing really great things for me on the days I am supposed to write it. Today he got up early and let me sleep in (I had been up from about 3:30-5:30) and he came home from work tonight on his lunch break and spent almost all of his break helping me feed and put the girls down. What a great guy.

I did the laundry today and for the first time in a couple of weeks we had a completely empty hamper. Those are the best kind of days because it means it is the most amount of time before I have to do laundry again. ๐Ÿ™‚ Anyways, I was feeling very happy about my empty hamper and then as I was passing by it this afternoon I saw something that first annoyed me, and then made me laugh “This must be a joke.” I said to myself. One of Russell’s shirts was barely hanging over the edge of the hamper. Not almost all the way in… almost all the way OUT. It has to be a joke. He knows I am writing my blog about him today and he is trying to be funny after last week’s post. Right? No. ” It was dark” he says “I couldn’t see.” This is what I have to live with…

Enough about last week’s post. Tonight I am going to complain about something that has come up a lot recently. Have you ever used one of those stand up cheese graters? Well we have one and it has one side that allows you to make slices instead of shredded cheese. Russell will pull out the grater and use it every time he wants a piece of cheese. Now I have this whole grater taking up room, sitting in my sink, that I have to wash all because he wanted two slices of cheese. I am not unreasonable… I could see using this feature if you were cutting an entire platter of cheese, but for just two slices couldn’t you use just a regular old knife? Come on! It drives me crazy!!!

They kinda look like the mailman – the RESULTS!

A couple days ago I posted a picture of the girls, and a few of my husband and I and asked you all to vote on who they look like. Now that I think everyone who will vote, has I am posting the results.

53.33% Think they look like Russell

46.67% Think they look like me

… and we have one request for a picture of the mailman – for comparison.

Thanks to everyone who voted and left comments. It was really interesting to see what you all thought and I must say I am very surprised the votes were so close! I guess we’ll have to wait and see as they grow up if they shift one way or the other.

They kinda look like the mailman?

People have been telling us a lot recently that they think the girls look like me. Honestly, I don’t see it AT ALL. I think they look just like little clones of my husband. So here are a couple pictures to compare. It’s up to you to decide.

I need a husband that won’t drive me crazy – 10/19

I must say I have loved doing these posts. Not only do I think they are fun and funny, but for some reason things are starting to change around here. Russell has been very sweet every monday (the day before I write these) and it makes me feel bad about picking on him. I don’t think it is intentional – he is just a good guy. Yesterday he cooked dinner, AND took the girls into the kitchen with him so I could have a few minutes of down time. He ALSO gave me a back rub. Pretty great, huh? Oh, and he did dishes after making dinner and didn’t even leave one soapy pot! I told you this blog is paying off!

But, alas, I must continue on my charge. So today my complaint is about the laundry. We have a laundry basket in our room, and while most of the time Russell can help his dirty clothes find the laundry hamper, he often doesn’t get them all the way into it. T-shirts, underwear, socks… I find all of them just hanging over the edge of the hamper. It drives me crazy!!!

I need a husband that won’t drive me crazy – 10/12

I say it every week, but let me say it again – Iย  have an amazing husband who I love very much. These posts are just for fun… he even comes up with some of them himself. On Tuesday mornings sometimes he will leave a cabinet or something open and ask if I need any new material ๐Ÿ™‚

But today I am not going to complain about anything left open! Shocking, I know. Today my complaint is about Russell doing dishes. (are you saying “I wish my husband even did dishes” yet?) You see, whenever my dear husband does dishes he always leaves one pot wish soapy water still in the sink. He says it is in case there are any dishes he doesn’t see he can wash them without using more soap. Fine, I guess, in theory except that there are rarely any dishes left behind. So then since there are no more dishes to do that one pot just sits in my sink. An almost clean kitchen tainted by that one straggler, soapy pot.

It drives me crazy!!!

On a side note: my wonderful brother called me after last week’s post and informed me the next time he comes to visit he is going to leave every cabinet open about 1 inch. Thanks, Pat. I love you too!

I need a husband that won’t drive me crazy – 10/5

I will say it again… I have a wonderful husband who I love very much. He is attentive, loving and supportive. I am very lucky. The purpose of these posts is more to poke fun at me and how anal I am about a lot of things. As you come to read more and more of these you will probably be saying โ€œwell I wish my husband would even do that!โ€.

I was tempted to do a post like last week because Russell watched the girls for me last night so I could go to my LV MoM’s meeting. Both girls were even asleep when I got home @ 9:30. That is quite a task in and of itself! BUT… I can’t let him slide two weeks in a row ๐Ÿ™‚

As you may have read in the first installment, Russell used to leave the cabinets unlatched and or open at our apartment in Durango. Well, not much has changed in the last 3 years, if anything his lack of closing things has evolved into new areas. He leaves the cabinet in our bathroom open frequently, and when he puts his dishes in the dishwasher (or empties it — see I told you you’d be saying “I wish my husband did that!”) he doesn’t push the rack in all the way and it makes the door stay slightly open. It drives me crazy!!!

All About Bear – 9/30

Well, it is official… The Bear is on the move. She started crawling this last Friday/Saturday-ish. I don’t have a video of it yet since it is still in that early crawl/scoot/lunge/getting frustrated she isn’t moving as fast as she would like stage. But she can definitely get that forward motion she has been striving for for so long. The whole world has opened up to her and she has discovered all the things we have left around he house that used to be just out of reach. I guess it is time to go and re-baby proof!

In other news, she has adopted Bean’s “no” head shake, although she is a little more indecisive than her sister. Her head shake is sometimes “yes”, sometimes “no” and often somewhere in between.

She was NOT happy about her first taste of avocado and kindly spit it right back out at me. (I don’t blame her, I don’t like it either!) She had similar feelings about yogurt, but has since come around (sort of).

The other night Russell and I were having a discussion about if our girls were circus performers what would they be. We decided Bear would be the person shot out of a cannon. She is fearless, and a little ball of energy. Just try to hold her in one place and see what happens! But she can also be very cuddly – as long as it is on her terms, which usually means during the night-time hours. She does love to snuggle up right after she finishes eating and fall asleep next to your chest or tucked into your shoulder.

Stay tuned and I’ll post a video of her crawling just as soon as I get one!

I need a husband that won’t drive me crazy- 9/28

It is time for another installment of “I need a husband that won’t drive me crazy”, although in good conscience I can’t write one today. This week my husband has been especially great so I can’t even complain about the little things. So instead I’ll mention a few of the cool things he did.

Last night right as we were crawling into bed for the night our dog Rusty started throwing up. Awesome, right? It’s late, we finally got the girls down, we are tired and ready for bed and now have to deal with a sick dog. Anyways, he completely took care of it himself and let me stay in bed!

And, the toilet paper in our bathroom ran out over the weekend. There wasn’t even any under the sink. Not only did he refill it- he had to go out to the garage to get more to refill it! As if that wasn’t enough, he even put the toilet roll on correctly (so the paper comes over the top).

So, in light of these two events, I’m going to skip my usual post this week and just say how thankful I am to be married to a wonderful man. I love you sweetheart!

Also, I want to know how you like your toilet paper hanging… the right way, or the wrong way?

I need a husband that won’t drive me crazy – 9/21

Today’s post will be a regular installment around my blog, although I am not sure it will make it in every week. We’ll see!

Let me preface by saying I have an awesome husband who I love very much. The purpose of these posts is more to poke fun at me and how anal I am about a lot of things. As you come to read more and more of these you will probably be saying “well I wish my husband would even do that!”.

So today’s complaint is going to be an old one, just to introduce you into my world. When we lived in Colorado we had a very old apartment (it only had 6 electrical outlets in the whole apartment- kitchen and bathroom included!) and the cabinets were latching cabinets. Russell would open a cabinet to get out a plate or cup or something and then would leave it open. He might leave the door open wide, or he would mostly close it but not latch it. It drove me CRAZY!

Do you know someone who drives you crazy over little things?
