Custom Sun Hat Tutorial

A while ago I posted a pattern for a Infant/Toddler Sun Hat. Today I am going to share another style of sun hat. (this is one I have made for boys too) It may seem a little more difficult since you will be creating your own pattern based on your child’s measurements, but it is actually very easy, and has fewer sewing steps.

When I make this pattern for a boy, I usually use longer sides and a smaller brim so it doesn’t flutter out so much around the edge. Fabric choice also makes a big difference! I hope you find this pattern helpful.

Here is Kylie modeling a hat from this pattern.

Toddler Shorts Pattern

Here is a super easy, and quick pattern for a pair of shorts for a toddler. With just a few seams you can knock a pair of these out in about a 1/2 hour using fabric from an old t-shirt! I made these two pairs from scrap fabric I had leftover from other projects.

And of course, here are the girls doing their best to model the shorts for me  🙂

Free Sun Hat Pattern

Woohoo! I am so excited to share with you this free pattern I designed for a baby or toddler summer sun hat. I love this project because it is quick and easy to do, plus I love anytime a pattern uses less than a yard of fabric because I can hunt through the remnant bin and get it extra cheap!
