Nine Month Stats

Wyatt has his doctors appointment yesterday and is everything is looking pretty good. He is still not eating solid foods yet, and so the doctor referred us to a speech therapist to try to help him work through a texture aversion. I am excited to get a few tips and tricks to try to help my Little Man. But seriously, who would have thought this chubby little baby would need help learning to eat food. Come on! Anyways here are his stats:

Height: 29 inches- 75th percentile

Weight: 21 lbs 15 oz- 75th percentile

Head circumference: 44 1/2 cm- 25th percentile

And he’s happy to boot!

  1. Unasked mom advice: Please don’t take him to a speech therapist yet. Some babies just like milk a little longer than others. I have a friend who’s baby wouldn’t eat solids til after a year and then it turned out to be a very good thing because he has lot’s of food allergies. Wyatt may not be eating yet but he is healthy. If he starts to loose weight or drop in his stats then think about the therapist.

  2. I have to say I agree as well. As long as he is healthy I see no problem. Blake had no interest in even eating baby foods, he skipped them completly. He didn’t like apple sauce or yougrt so baby jarred foods were out of the question. The pedi had us sent to chomp to see a speech therapist as well and it did nothing. All kids are different just as adults are different. Dr’s cant group us all in standard catagories cuz we are all different and do things in our own time in our own ways not how and when books tell us we should. I’m sure your son will eat more solids when he’s ready. Just like with my son as long as he wasn’t deficent in vitamins etc or showing signs of somwthing being medically wrong I slowly stopped worrying. In Blake’s case he started eating sids 2 months later and was just finr. Just like with my first son he never crawled went straight to walking. There is always more than one way to get to the same destination. Just my opinion and personal story. You are awesome parents and your beautiful kids are growing and thriving wonderfully because of all your love and support 🙂 keep up the great work 🙂
